This camera is a family heirloom with my folks. Got our first one in 2010, just like you took it to Italy the following year. While we are at home, it's been used (mostly by me) to document (mis)adventures with my friends as well as my cousins, and as luck would have it I still use it to this day, albeit in tandem with the cameras from my extra iPhones. So the Flip has stuck with me from elementary school all the way to college...and beyond! :D

We could probably get rid of most vertical videos if phone manufacturers orient their sensors the same way the Flip camera did it. Flip kinda nailed the ergonomics of holding a rectangle to record a video and nobody has ever thought of replicating it. Nowadays we got entire genres of content that are the results this simple ergonomic fact.

Oh man, I remember using one back throughout 2009-2010. I believe I sold it right before 2011, but by then, 1080p had made it’s mark, and I was saving up for a decent Sony handheld camera at the time.

Love the flip camera got mine couple months ago and been filming a few videos on it. Used it for a reaction video mine is I believe the 2007 model it says 2007 on the box. Uses AA batteries unfortunately and only record your to 28 minutes and something seconds but I’m not complaining. Cameras awesome and the quality is really good for a lack of a better word. Somewhat vintage camera in YouTube’s earlier days.

I still have the Flip Audio HD that I bought back when CTFxC was still at like year 1. I just pulled it out and it was gooey from the rubberized top coat deteriorating. I used 91% iso and paper towels to slowly rub the layer away. Now it looks like the Flip Mino with how glossy it is.

The Flip camera was ok. There was one in a gift bag I received at a media event about 15 years ago and it was fun to use. But then Kodak came out with their Zi8 pocket video recorder and that was much better. I still have - and use - two of them. Better video quality than the Flip, plus an external mic jack (I plug in a Saramonic SmartMic mini condenser mic for excellent audio) and macro setting.
