This installation brings us to the Isle of Wight, to upgrade an older ground source heat pump with a more efficient Nibe S1145 12kw GSHP. In addition, we add a Solar PV system with storage batteries. Details are as follows:

16 x 410w Canadian Solar PV panels – with a projected generation of 5248 kw/h per annum.

5.0 Solax String Inverter – string inverters allow for Solar PV for external buildings to be connected to the main house. This expands the possibilities of where solar panels can be placed on a property to ensure maximum solar generation, without limitation to just the main house roof.

8 x 3.2kw Green Linx Batteries - stores up to 24.6kw at one time.

2 x Lux Powertek AC coupled inverters, with a squirrel pod system - Having two AC coupled inverters allows for an output of 7kw, enough to power all household usage. The squirrel pod system automatically gives you the cheapest hour-to-hour charge rate available, in conjunction with suppliers with smart tariffs, such as Octopus Energy.

This ground source heat pump with Solar PV & battery installation allows the homeowner to power their household usage, including the GSHP’s annual consumption of 6765 kw/h, entirely via solar generation and battery storage charged strategically at the cheapest times of day.
