2017 marked SAGA’s 40th (!) anniversary. The band that has combined hard rock, progressive rock and pop like no other celebrated their anniversary with a tour around the globe, saying thank you and farewell to the fans… for now.
Now, one year later, the exciting live recording “So Good So Far – Live At Rock Of Ages” sees its release.

Featuring the most iconic of songs that SAGA has been known and loved for by fans for more than 40 years, “So Good So Far” delivers the epitome of the band’s long and proud history – all recorded at the Rock of Ages festival in Seebronn, Germany in 2017 on both audio and video. SAGA, the headliner of the evening played, an energetic 1,5 hours set in front of thousands of festival goers, featuring the best of 21 SAGA studio albums with classics such as “On The Loose”, “Humble Stance, “Wind Him Up” or “Don’t Be Late”.

Says Michael Sadler: “SAGA has a very special history with the legendary ROCK OF AGES festival in Seebronn, Germany. Founder Horst Franz invited us to perform for the very first one in 2006!
Fast forward to 2017 - SAGA returns to the coveted Saturday night stage by special request, celebrating the band's 40th Anniversary with our Final Chapter Tour.

This release captures the sound and atmosphere of that spectacular night with our musical family and friends that will never be repeated...or will it?”

Adds Ian Crichton: “Over the years it’s been a privilege to play to audiences in Europe, it all started in Germany!”
“So Good So Far – Live At Rock Of Ages” is going to be released as 2CD+DVD Digipak (incl. the full show on video as bonus), 2LP Gatefold+download code and Digital on September 28th, 2018 on earMUSIC.

There is not, nor has there ever been, a better band than SAGA! They are not my favorite band, but the level of musicianship and vocal prowess on display at this concert, is staggering! Ian Crichton is perhaps the most precise guitarist I have ever seen, I swear he has a metronome hard-wired into his brain! Watch this concert, these guys are still absolutely on top of their game! And there's only been a few bands ever who could come close to their level of precision! ROCK OF AGES is amazing!

I saw them at Guaynabo coliseum in Puerto Rico in the early 1980's . At the end of that concert, he said what do you want me to play, I replied very loudly, Humble Stance", they played that song.. Profound memories of my youth.

Danke!

Joy, tears, 3 a.m. Angry, anger about things that are happening in the world. Listening to music as a distraction - since I have known SAGA, I never really had a "favorite group" as a nothing little Musician. Until ... A Friend invited me to his birthday and said: "Listen to this" .... My God Gentlemen! ... how long ago was that ... Images at Twilight ... I could continue talking or writing ... no .... Thank you Michael, thank you Jim, thank you Steve, thank you Ian and everyone who followed. Thank you for this unforgettable music. Thank you!

Saw Saga in the late 70s in London, they opened for Stix.
Saga got a fantastic response that night from everyone, And i guess like me now one had ever heard of them before.
Still sound great after all those years.

I was at the first show of saga at rock of ages festival in 2006, it was a new festival in germany with saga the headliners of the second day of the fest, the show of saga was one hell of a party, I was lucky to meet a few hours before the show all the members of saga minus the drummer, I saw saga once again in 2014 at Sweden rock festival, the show was another celebration, thanks saga for all the wonderful music, the shows and great memories, you're the best
