The REAL reason Putin might start a nuclear war

Putin's brutal invasion of Ukraine raises a question about how far he will escalate. We look behind the walls of the Kremlin and inside Putin's mind to assess the imminent risk of two nuclear threats. First, a delimited tactical nuclear strike. Second, global nuclear war

@johnnyharris made a second video about Putin's brutal invasion of Ukraine. What's wrong with it? It assumes wrongly that Putin thinks he is at war with Ukraine.

This video features the great investigative journalist Christo Grozev,

00:00 Framing Putin's Ukraine invasion and our nuclear risk
01:20 Rapid change in the Kremlin no 1 (destruction of free media )
03:22 Rapid change in the Kremlin no 2 n (humiliation of intelligence chief)
05:15 What is going on in the Kremlin bubble?
07:59 Nuclear threat 1
11:50 Nuclear threat 2
12:57 The Russian people
14:05 What to do
16:06 Brutal bombing of Chernihiv by Putin

I just today discovered your channel and the content is awesome! Thank you for doing this. As a Russian, living in Europe, I have been telling people about Putin's crimes for more than 10 years, but all I heard was how great of a president he is...hopefully now everyone understands.

I'm glad you commented on the change in regime. I lived in Moscow in 2003 and both saw and heard people openly opposing Putin in public, without fear. He's not the same President he was then, we don't hear the same stories these days.

As a Romanian, this is terrifying me. I live in Sweden, but my whole family and my friends live in Romania. We already suffered half a century of Russian oppression.

As a westerner (Canada) trying to understand the nature of this conflict I must say that your videos have been very helpful. I don't think the world is really understanding how close the the nuclear precipice we really are.

''Please Relax, and let us talk about a global nuclear war.''
Well damn Vlad, you sure know how to take the audience by the hand !

I have heard more than one prominent Russian speak of the "humiliation" the country endures from the west. I believe Putin has a point about border security but also that the country's true unconscious motive is not strategic but rather to assert that they are still a superpower. This is about pride. And when I see Putin in his 60s indulging in the fantasy that he can play hockey with pros and pump iron, it seems of a piece with such deep insecurity.

It's hard for young people like me to suddenly be surrounded by Nuclear sabre rattling, but this was the reality of the Cold War and will be the reality again.

This is the second video by Mr. Vexler I have seen in the last hour...very insightful and well thought. As a 71 year old American, I grew up under the threat of holocaust and welcomed the apparent "thaw" after the end of the (1st?) Cold War. We could get on with our lives and not worry about Russia anymore, they were going to be "good guys." The self-questioning presented by the quote from Gogol, the image of the runaway troika everyone is backing away from, and now the turn by the Kremlin back to a near totalitarian perspective, in an attempt to rid Russia of the "west" explains a lot. As a praying Christian, I believe that there IS an end of history, one that answers to neither the secular West's self-indulgent movement, nor to the ancient Russian self-image as perhaps a conquering Viking. "The king's heart is like streams of water in the hands of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wills." (Proverbs) Mr. Putin, no matter how he hides like the inner doll of a Matrioshka set, cannot hide himself from God. I pray for him and the Russian soldiers under his command, as I do for Ukraine. God will ultimately triumph. Sola Deo Gloria...

Watching this now. I feel nauseated....like, for real...honestly nervous. Been spinning around the sun for 51 yrs, and had some existential meltdowns along the way; but nothing has given me this bad of vibes. Something is off...and there needs to be an intervention of some kind.

Thank you for making these. I just discovered this channel recently, thanks to the algorithm. Your contribution to our sanity, is immeasurable. 💌

I've been sharing your videos with my friends here in Canada who are curious about what's happening - thank you so much for giving colour and context to such immediately devastating information.

It’s good to see intelligent, factual information about this war. It’s rare. We do need to get our heads around it.

As a former 'bit player' in the so called 'Cold War' for many years, I found this address the most convincing & concerning exposition to date. My main concern now is that when - not if - Putin realises he is not/can not achieve his objectives, he will escalate the scale of aggression as described. However, at the age of 69 & with health allegedly not 100%, with a cowering cabinet behind him - they looked as if they were sitting on broken glass when he asked them to agree to his current plan of action - he has little time left. Sadly his epitaph is likely to be of a 'would be Stalin' rather than the leader who made Russia great again. Thank you for this most compelling video.

Found your vids today. What is happening in Ukraine just breaks my heart. My degree is in history, but my understanding of Russian history wasn't too great. It's very complex. I've been devouring info since. Greatly appreciate how you explain things; it's much different than most. It goes beyond Lenin, Stalin, the Holodomor, & other commonly talked about things. Thank you!!

Thank you for this Vlad, and all the other videos - I have just discovered your channel. It sends a shiver down my spine to see my home country Poland light up on the map in the video, I was born close to the (now) Ukrainian border and remember many family members talk about being displaced from the East in the 40s, some ended up in the gulag. Though I live in the UK and have done for 30 years, there must be a neurocircuit in my brain which fires up at first sign of instability in my native part of the world. I cry for Ukraine. But you're right - we must face reality and learn. Thank you for your insight.

Thanx for your channel Vlad. It is very difficult to find sensible commentary and analysis about Russia and to find a Russian throwing light on the subject.

I have lived in Russia for a bit over20 years and I couldn't agree with you more. My wife and son were born here and they don't see things the same way I do. We are leaving to go somewhere else. This is not the country I "thought" I lived in, but as the French say "Plus ça change plus c'est la meme chose.

Vlad, your channel is excellent. You appeared today in my recommended feed, and I’ve watched several of your videos, and anticipate watching many more. As an American, I’ve been following events in Ukraine since the Crimea annexation, and your commentary about all things Russian is a treasure trove of insight.
