Показать описание
The meaning of the Anunnaki name and title; Marduk. I provide the Sumerian and Akkadian versions as well as the logograms and alternative titles for the Mighty Hunter and Anunnaki god, Marduk, also known as Merodach.
The name Marduk (probably pronounced Marutuk,) is believed to derive from dAMAR.UD, amar-Utu, meaning; "immortal son of Utu" or "bull calf of the sun god Utu". Marduk; probably pronounced Marutuk.
During the first millennium BC, the Babylonians worshipped a deity under the title "Bel", meaning "lord", who was a syncretisation of Marduk, Enlil, and the dying god Dumuzid abzu. Bel held all the cultic titles of Enlil and his rank in the Babylonian religion was chiefly the same.
