Other mafia games I'd like to see:
Mafia: la fame - based on the cosa nostra in the 70s and 80s Palermo, focuses on terrorism period, inspired by irl Corleonesi clan
Mafia V - 80s Mafia game set in Miami (at the same time avoiding being a Vice City clone);
Mafia: la caduta - 90s and 2000s videogame, sequel to la fame, focusing on the downfall of the Sicilian cosa nostra and rise of camorra and ndrangheta
Mafia VI - late 90s, early 2000s game set in a fictional NJ (or a profoundly transformed Empire Bay) that shows how the Mafia had deteriorated after the RICO acts and all that, inspired by the Sopranos

I worry that GTA 6 will overshadow Mafia: The Old Country in terms of sales and gameplay. Because if that happens we might not get Mafia 4 in the future.

mafia 3 is a great game, only 15.8% of players reached the marijuana farm segment. Thats where the game starts. Stupid gamers (including myself) see the get $5000 quest as the primary gameplay loop. Bruh that get $5000 thing never happens again in the whole entire game. Its not even a small sidequest compared to everything else.

I think that a Mafia game in "recent" years wouldn't be such a good match. Mafia 3 had a good time period, but I don't think anything past that would fit the series.

Legit i would not mind having a mafia game set in Montreal, if only cause of the insane Rizzuto Family family up there who were a big supporter in the infamous "Biker Wars" of Quebec. We get 90s mobsters working with bikers in a war that go so bad nearly 200 people got killed with many more injured. Could have some really cool environments with the unique climate and vibes of Quebec!

I would also like a mafia game set in the prohibition era I know mafia 1 had started in 1930 and the prohibition ended in 1933 but it would be cool to have a game set in the 1920 when the prohibition started 😁😁😁
