Spurting Plasma on the Sun

This video from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory spacecraft, orbiting more than 20,000 miles above Earth, shows a stream of plasma burst out from the sun on May 27,2014. Since the stream lacked enough force to break away, most of it fell back into the sun. The video, seen in a combination of two wavelengths of extreme ultraviolet light, covers a little over two hours. This eruption was minor and such events occur almost every day on the sun and suggest the kind of dynamic activity being driven by powerful magnetic forces near the sun's surface.

NASA, as usual you provide great media and knowledge of our solar system, and beyond. However I'd like to provide feedback of including reference information within the "About" section of YouTube. Perhaps a link to the NASA mission page connected to the specific spacecraft.

Great video, even though it is so short it is mesmerizing to see this type of footage.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but is there an actual space craft orbiting the sun that close, recording videos, or is this some sort of CGI representation?

I have a better question: how did they get a camera so close to record this? do we have such cameras that can zoom 1000x to the sun and observe such events?
