Nashville school pastor removes Harry Potter books claiming 'risk of conjuring evil spirits'

Parents have voiced their concern in an anonymous letter after the school's pastor pulled the Harry Potter book series from the school's library because they glorify acts of conjuring the dead and evil spirits, among other things.

Went to a Catholic school where my mom was the principal. Some of the parents wanted to remove Harry Potter from the library. She politely told them no.

As a potterhead NONE of these spells are real. They come from Latin words. My parents are Christians and they are fine with me reading and watching Harry Potter. My aunt and uncle on the other hand don't like it because they think it's bad I mean ok if that's your opinion but when I asked if they read or watched the series they said no. Don't go around saying something is bad before you do your research. Plus divination is portrayed as crazy and absurd in the movies anyways 😂

The thing is that no christian should be interested in "occult" and "witchcraft". Why in the world would some devote christian have interest in those things? Well maybe if they want knowledge of what those things are and how bad they are, but we know for sure that those things come from evil spirit. Yeah, you can read, but you should also ask yourself: Why I have interest in this? Is it fun to me? Why would such material be fun to me? Those are the questions someone should ask himself.

Clearly didn't even bother to read the Harry Potter books otherwise they would have realised that the series is full of Christian themes. Good vs. Evil, "the Chosen One", "The-boy-who-lived", who "came back from death" to save the world from the evil Voldemort. Love thy neighbour, love, friendship, helping those in need, ...

Why is it a shock that a Pastor would get rid of literature glorifying witchcraft? Thank you Pastor. This Christian loves Harry potter. I'm already on the fourth book and I got them two weeks ago. My step dad and mom thinks it's satanic( I live with my mom) they never said anything about me reading it but they will eventually. When they do, I will just point out that Disney has wiches and that show gravity falls had bill in it.
Pointing out what they do whenever they put themself on a throne and think they know all right from wrong will shoot them off. Never fales.
