Important Tips for Flying Drones in the Cold of Winter

Can you or should you still fly your drone during winter? Since winter can sometimes last 4-5 months, that's a long time not to fly. I like to research these kinds of things to make sure I have a good understanding. Let's talk about flying drones when it's cold. We'll talk about how to use the UAV Forecast app to help decide whether to fly or not. The drone shots in this video were taken with the Parrot ANAFI.

These gloves are great for flying in cold temperatures. They're designed for touchscreens and also have uncoverable fingertips.

I use wintertime for my simulators. I freeze up outside long before the drone does. I would think a wintertime recovery is brutal. I am also trying to use Google Earth to discover and preplan for Spring.

Great video. I have always had a paid version of UAV Forcast just to support the developer of the application. Great app for information. Just wish it would snow in GA. It hasn't snowed since I got my 1st good drone back in 2018..LOL.

I don't mind flying in the cold weather as long as it is not snowing or raining. I am concerned about the electronics of the quad. Good info though GI.
