Ash Blossom is the kind of card that will ALWAYS be expensive due to how incredible it is. The demand will never be met, and I want me one of them there secret rares :)

I’m definitely on a mixed bag with the card rarities. Having the highest rarity/most expensive versions is really cool, but sometimes it’s better to just have a common version to appreciate the artwork on the card.

Plus, the commons usually end up being extremely cheap too so it makes getting a deck built easier.

Budget option definitely. Nothing better than slapping a common down against someone with a max rarity deck. Congrats as well

i love blinging out my deck btw, there‘s no option whatsoever other than max rarity for me personally

I prefer the cheapest options as i am on a budget and i feel like lower rarity versions are just as good as higher rarities. Also good luck with the proposal.

I started playing back during the LOB days but dropped of hard at the beginning of synchros. Getting back into it has been alot of fun

well, i got into the game around 2016 with the monarch structure deck, and yeah, these cards are kinda nostalgic.
Honestly, its crazy how many good cards were in maximum crisis, i mean zoodiac, true draco, spyral, lyrilus and so on

I really like to have a lot of common cards in my decks. Makes the sparkly ones extra special.

First. Congratulations on the the proposal and so happy she said yes.

Now onto the question.
I've played card games almost my whole life. (Started with Magic in 1993.) And the thing I have discovered is that if you want to play the best deck possible, You almost have no choice but maximum rarity.
Yes once reprints get announced usually the price drops and the supply goes up.
And then you can pick up more copies of said card if you decide to downgrade the copies you own. Or just buy more of the card so you can multiple playable decks.

But until then your almost forced to pay crazy prices. Yes you can wait a month or so for prices to go down once more of whatever set is opened. (But who likes to wait?)

For me I don't mind having to pay the prices if I get my value out of them. And I get that by winning or topping events and playability.

I will always prefer the higher rarity cards. The high rarities like secret and ultimate just look so fantastic

As a budget player I usually go for lower rarities but when I can I rarity boost the deck and congrats on your proposal!

With the different rarity of all the cards and so many prices and gotten lucky pulling some high rarity stuff but mainly using the lower rarity stuff cause of price more of a budget player but when the set come out before they are bought out getting to pull max rarity stuff is really cool.

We need more Ash reprints...Ash is one of those staples that should be dirt cheap and accesible for everyone

Congratulations on the engagement Revz. I go for the cheaper alternatives as I don't care about rarity as long as I can play the cards in tournament.

I love the look of shiny cardboard but at the same time I'll never really get hyped over like an ulti reprint announcement or something like that (not like im ever getting one lol) whereas if a good card gets announced for a common/super reprint in a structure deck or something I am popping the hell off

Bro you are making me feel so old, it was only 2017! When I think "old sets" I think Legend of blue-eyes or metal raiders lol.

I normally buy lower/lowest rarity first that way its cheaper, but if I realize I am fully commitng to that card/that deck, then I will start finding the higher rarirties to start blinging it out.

My first yugi cards were from the structure deck “machine re-volt” in 2007 (i was 6 yo), but i lost them in a flood and never bought more until 2021 that i played duel links and said to my self “why not?” And bought one of those 600 cards pack for $30 or so
