In this edition of the Center for Latinx Digital Media's Virtual Seminar Series, Prof. Paul Alonso (Georgia Institute of Technology ) made a presentation entitled "Political Satire, Digital Infotainment, and Alternative Journalism in Latin America." The event was moderated by Facundo Suenzo, a Ph.D. student at Northwestern University and coordinator of the Center.

Presentation abstract: What’s the relation between journalism and entertainment in the digital age? What’s the role of satire in contemporary political communication? Based on his journalism background and academic work, the speaker will address these questions and offer insights about the main challenges for meaningful contemporary narratives, sociocultural critiques, and democratic conversation in Latin(x) America.
