I love my power tools, but occasionally I wonder how some of my old furniture was made and shaped before the days of power tools. I’m learning how in the Cosman shop from a modern-day master in his YouTube classroom. This is fun!

Grat explanation of the Jointer. I have a #7 clone made many years ago when Craftsman was still a real tool company. Bought old, used and in bad shape but a week of so of work brought it back to life and able to pull a .001 shaving from some rough sawn boards (6/4 x 10')I get from a friend for a project. Love the videos.

Could I make do with a number 6, as I’m a smaller person and No 7 is just so long? Thx

Hi Rob, this was a great video on the #7 plane. I am considering adding one to my collection. I had in mind before I seen this video the #8 lie-Nielsen which is a bit bigger and heavier but now I have confused myself. Which would you recommend? Thanks Rob

Hello, Do you make 25 or 30 degress bevel blade when you uses the shooting board?

I want to get me one of these to add to my collection, would you recommend the Woodriver one? or spend more and get a Lie-Nielsen one? is there any difference apart from price?

Hi Rob, if someone already has a No. 5 (or 5 1/2), would you suggest going with the No. 7 over the 6? Thanks!

Got a used one for $20, I would like new but don't use it that often.
