Labour leader Kier Starmer is facing criticism that he has a women problem in his party, following the resignation of Sue Gray as Chief of Staff and a scathing attack from former Labour MP Rosie Duffield. Transport Secretary Louise Haigh defends the PM and says she 'does not recognise those characterisations'.

Liebour in Sheffield has spaffed away billions on 32 'green' 45-tonne 'supertrams' that only reach a tiny fraction of the city instead of investing in 600 electric busses that could reach everyone for the same money. They are just about to move one tram stop from the the back of the rail station to the front, at the cost of more than £1 billion. The passenger numbers have been in decline for a decade and now the city is buying the failure out after bailing the private company out several times . This MP should not be in charge of transport.

She didn't confirm "free" bus travel for pensioners; she confirmed "concessionary" bus travel for pensioners. One is free, the other is cheaper than the normal price. A play on words that makes a difference so let's not be surprised when pensioners are forced to pay for bus travel.
