We review the new Mazda MX-30 R-EV Skyactiv Edition R.
With its wankel engine that works as a generator for the battery, it is a really smart solution in my opinion. Its been somewhat critized but the way it got it all together, how it works, its drive and the layout of the car. Makes it very interesting and special. But does that cut it?

Greetings from Australia. Love your review you have really captured to my eyes what this car is all about.

Personally I do love a car to have some character like an Alfa Romeo use to have . I love the technology and the character of this MX30. It would be the perfect car for me sadly Mazda no longer sell the MX30 and we never saw this version 😢

I own this specific model and now +4300km behind. I can say in real life in city/suburb area and nice weather, if you drive some how economically you can EV drive quite easily 100km, without charging or consuming gasoline. My average average consumption is now some where 15, 4kWh/100 km whole time and can go low as 13kWh/100 km back and forth to the city (40-50km and speed limits 30-100km/h). I think that 85km is doable in 80-100km/h road in these conditions if driving nicely. In Finnish winter this is different story of course.
