Great video, much easier than cutting a thread for every warp thread! That said, does this method leave issues with finishing as far as having enough slack at either end (without wrapping all the way around the loom for extra lenght) for the sake of braiding/tying off the ends/etc.?

Can someone please explain why you add the extra warp line? Like, it's 10 rows, but you add 11. Why? What do you do with the extra line if you have no beads for it? I'm transitioning from hand weaving to the loom and everyone says it's necessary but no one is explaining its use. I don't understand why it's there or what you do with it when you're done.
