I thought the USA had old & beautiful cemeteries but this one takes the prize. What a beautiful, beautiful cemetery. I can't get over the incredible artwork & care initially given to each stone along with an extensive detailed story about that person. What a beautiful tribute that the families gave to their loved ones. It's so disrespectful that cemeteries this beautiful could be left to nature & vandals.

Always appreciate the LACK of amateur logos and video wipe-ins and NO MUSIC. Thank you thank you. You get it.

Hi Chris, great see you again. Chris, my ancestors lived in England from around 800AD to 1834. They were Vikings who landed in or around what is now known as Durham on East Coast of England. My last name is patronymic and means, son of watchful, I can trace my ancestors back to 1540, in Whaley, England, during the Dissolution of the Monasteries by King Henry VIII. From there they moved Southeast to Little Bolton within Manchester, England in the 1700s. My Great-great-great grandfather was a Millwright for wealthy Cotton mill owner who owned 5 story industrial cotton mills southeast of Manchester. Near the end of their time in England they became debt slaves in towns called Bugsworth, and Hayfield. In Bugswoth there was, and is a early canal, and the regents of the multi story cotton mill my ancestor worked as a millwright. Chris I know England pretty well, and her is a brief list of things you might look into. Malmesbury Abbey where King Athelstan was laid to rest. He Wrote the Masonic Constitution in 927, and was the grandson of King Alfred the Great who saved England from the viking hoards. Next would be the Ness of Broadgar, on the Orkney Islands. I was a a place of incredible knowledge, and religious Temples, and Henges in the early Bronze Age. It is a spectacular place that is beautiful and literal magic. Next up is the amazing Maeshowe tomb, Next up would be Newgrange in Ireland, which is 5, 000 years old, and is a masterwork of neolithic design and engineering with deep spiritual meaning. Fourknocks, Knowth, Le Dehus, Loughcrew, the Standing Stones of Callanish, and the British Museum. Chris this list is meant as a respectful acknowledgment of your terrific work. Have a blast on your trip Chris, and I wish you all the best.

It’s so cool you are visiting us! I look forward to the videos. There is an amazing modern house at the edge of the cemetery with a balcony that looks over the graves. I once visited it and it seemed like such a peaceful place to live.

Cemeteries give us an incredible look into one person's history and challenge us to think about their lives vs the times they lived in

Hello just found your channel. I am not sure if you travel a lot but, I would really like for you to visit the Addolorata Cemetary in Malta. There was a notorious case of an 8 year old Anthony Aquilina who was beheaded with a bread knife by his own mother. She was initially given the death sentence then reduced to 10 years. It sparked outrage on the tiny island as this woman went Scott free after subjecting her son to horrific physical abuse. The boy is buried at the Addolorata Cemetery. The mother's name was Luigia also known as Giggia. She then found refuge in Australia with her older daughter who had been a key witness in the original death sentence of her mom. After Giggia's return to Malta where she died at 68years the daughter recanted her version of the gruesome murder of her brother. The girl had witnessed the mom sawing her brother's head on the floor only to say it may have been strangers.
Boy has a beautiful grave where he is finally resting.

I don’t understand why people think they can just destroy what isn’t theirs. Makes me sick.

I’m intrigued, how were you able to walk around the catacombs on your own? You can only enter with a tour now.

The grave you showed with the horse on top was of John Atchelor who was the slaughterhouse owner that supplied Queen Victoria’s meat. Slaughterhouses were massively lucrative in that time hence his prominent rest place.

Time index 16:35-16:37, there is a woman saying something, almost like she's trying to get your attention. You hear regular humans yelling, singing, or music in the city, or elsewhere; but this woman's voice is whispering up onto the mic, like she's responding to your commentary about this guy's grave. I wasn't even looking for it. I just heard, noticed that there were no other noises (footfalls, walking, etc), and recalled my own walk through Highgate several years ago (this summer, I was living just outside of South London, as usual, so didn't have time to make it to Highgate, or its other attached locations.

Hopefully, they do maintain the cemetery. Them folks paid a lot of money to be put to rest there.🙏🕊

Was this the cemetery that was used for the opening of the film "From Beyond The Grave" starring Peter Cushing?!
