What was the reasoning behind all thin shells?

Awesome drum kit! How do you like the SQ2 compared to the a Starclassic Maple? What were your factors in selecting the SQ2 Beech over others such as DW Collectors, Tama Star or Pearl Masterworks?

I've been hell-bent on getting thin birch with birds eye maple matte finish inside and out because I love hybrid shells but the more I hear the thin beech the more I'm really starting to like it. Can't wait to see the rest of this!

So, thin beech on the toms and medium on the bass? Or did you go with the vintage build on the bass drum? I don't understand why Sonor won't offer a moderately thinner bass drum as an option, but it's okay to build an uber-thin vintage bass shell with re-rings?
