Nothing better than old Rolling Stones songs...🎉

I was a dj that year and I always played that song last before shutting down very late. Some people would stay until that late just to dance to that one. All were totally one with Charlie Watts drums and Bill Wyman bass. It was mesmerizing, can visualize it still today after all these years.

Brilliant. One of my best memories. Christmas eve party 1966. My first kiss and snog – this song playing. Magic.

I love this song. One of the reason I fell in love with The Stones.

I am a longtime Beatles, Stones, & British Invasion music fan. This is the first time I've ever heard this long song from their breakthrough album Aftermath. It's a very good blues rocker w/a sincere realistic message about going home. The wailing by Mick Jagger towards the end sounds Tom me alot like the end of Under My Thumb. That panting heavy breathing sexually suggestive wailing about Goin' Home to the bedroom with his lover...it's very effective & bold for the times.

I’m 70 and this was one of my favorite songs ever! So deliciously raunchy 😉 When I was at my grandmas she let me & my sister stay up late and listen to the radio. She said that was the only time she would put up with having the music in the house was when she was asleep!😂

Summer 1966 this would come on the radio just before midnight. Just perfect.

Definitely my favorite Stones song. I remember playing this album when I was around 16. It was such an unusual rock song at the time. I took to it immediately.... didn't realize then that I was into the blues.

I discovered ther Rolling Stones in the early nineties (Flashpoint + sixties hit compilation). I remember "old" people (they were younger that what I am now...) telling me Aftermath was their best album and I didn't understand why. Now I get it (but still not the best for me).

I'm not sure why Charlie's death hit so hard, and not just to me. I'm probably like a lot of people in that I fully expect Keith & Mick to die given their life style. But such is life, no?

After listening to Get Off My Cloud, I came to Goin' Home for some reason. And listening, I know why. Charlie's there, very understated, giving this song exactly what it needed from a drummer. I've often thought that Goin' Home showed the musicians that the Stones were, but not often enough.

I'll miss Charlie Watts. I checked on Darryl Jones' web site and he said he can't find words, but he'll post something when he can. And that says a lot about Charlie's impact on the people he knew. From what I've read, it was Charlie that brought Darryl to the Stones. Impeccable taste in doing that, to nobody's surprise.
