I am all for the term “independent contractor” to be smashed to bits in wrestling… and all industries. It is just an excuse not to give the working class who do all the vital labor to have healthcare and benefits they deserve… but instead, executives get bonuses .

AEW is probably the closest to their wrestlers being independent.

They can still show up on the indies and take bookings. AEW takes priority but I think that’s fair.

It's the same thing with MMA fighters. If they're independent contractors why do they have to sign exclusivity deals and be locked into them for years?

There was a lawsuit against the UFC but they settled so they could keep the fighters locked down.
