Brando's acting is still great here 70 years later. You'd have thought it'd be a bit dated by now but honestly brilliant even now.

Even sucking his fingers marlon looks sofisticated, his acting and his precense really a king

It's very interesting because nowadays Brando's methods are the standard and Leigh and Hunter would be considered "over-the-top".

I love how he goes from menacing to accommodating in a split second. “I’ve cleared my plate. Want me to do yours?” 👏

A violent house man, but a generous mob boss. Only legend Marlon Brando could do that lol.

I just read the drama script for an entire day. And sheesh, this scene really is amusing both in play and script.

The last time I saw this movie was like 9th grade when they made us watch it for some reason, I was immediately struck by brando because he seemed like a modern actor transplanted into the early 50’s. Now after watching this scene I’m wondering if James Gandolfini was inspired by this performance when he played tony soprano

You realize when you watch this how much Brando changed everything as far as acting is concerned. A bit like Miles Davis and John Coltrane when it comes to jazz.

Brando was magnificent as Stanley. His acting style in theater and film created a seismic shift in other actors' interpretation of roles.

I love Brando, don't get me wrong. But the heavy lifting in this scene is Leigh, her insecurity in telling the story etc. She's carrying all the language. He's reacting, internal, dangerous, brilliant, but she's doing the hard yards.

I forgot to breathe watching this scene! 😂🤣

Blanche is that one friend everyone has that’s just *exhausting* to be around sometimes. There’s an old proverb along the lines of “a wise man only breaks the silence when he knows he can improve upon it”…Blanche is not a “wise man” lol

I think this lunch was Marlon’s favourite part of the film making 😂 considering his passion for food

I read Stanley as someone not as polished than Brando but his portrayal is excellently accomplished.

*"Stanley, tell us a joke."*

She sounded very British there.
