What is the Best Method to Communicate with a Claim Adjuster?

People tend to always call a claim adjuster with regards to their claim whether its to tell the adjuster what happened, get a status on their claim, etc...I hear story after story on how an insurance adjuster promised them that "everything will be taken care of" or "don't worry you're covered."

As the ole saying goes, "If its not in writing, it never happened"
