If it makes you feel any better Billy, gay people didn’t go see it either.

I don't think you get more people to see a movie by calling them homophobic.

Attacking people always gets them to see your movie, that always works

You cannot tell people how to spend their time and money. If someone doesn’t want to watch this movie there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

When 95+% of the demographics are turned off by what your selling, you shouldn't be upset about your movie bombing.

Just because people don't want to see the movie doesn't make them ''homophobic'' Billy.

Sorry but calling people homophobic for not watching the movie is stupid af. I can see why a straight people would have no desire to see this movie. The comedy is mostly crass and sexual. The content really only really relates to modern gay folk who are in the ‘gay scene’. Actually I’m not even sure if my generation, Gen Z, could relate to it tbh. It’s mostly for millennials. But the comedy also feels SO manufactured and not natural to me. Call Me By Your Name on the other hand was super successful, so you can’t blame straight people for not showing up for ‘BROS’ and for it bombing. CMBYN also featured not very well known actors at the time, so although star power is real, it’s not critical for a movies success if the movie is actually good. I’m glad CMBYN exists because it’s a movie that focuses on the universal theme of love between two individuals and unrequited love, that even straight people can relate to. For some reason I get confused with Billy Eichner and Steven Crowder 😂😩. I don’t think he’s a very good as a comedic actor. If they wanted it to be more successful they should’ve released it at the start of pride month as well. October is so random. I was going to give it a watch but now I just cba.

It's hilarious how rotten tomatoes immediately slaps a "certified fresh" label on a movie that just came out a couple of days ago.

I think it's such a low hanging fruit to call anybody who didn't see the movie a "homophobe." So because we all didn't immediately drop everything, and run to the theaters to see this opening week, that makes us homophobic? I don't go to the theaters to begin with. I wasn't rooting against this movie. I wasn't protesting it, boycotting it, or opposing it any way. I just didn't want to see it. There's a lot of movies I don't want to see. The movie isn't for me. Simple as that. I don't owe Billy, or the LGBT community anything. And not going out to see a movie, just to make you richer, doesn't make me a homophobe.

You know Eichner was lying about the theater audience going crazy over it.

The desperation in that cringe tweet is enough confirmation for me to know that I’m saving my money wisely. I’ll just rewatch Bird Cage like usual.

He made a (hard?) R rated movie with no well know actors or actress (gay or straight) that got released in October along side a horror movie that is also getting good reviews and when Florida and many Southern Coastal states are dealing with Hurricane Ian. That and all the haunted houses in town opened up and tons of Football along with the final weekend of MLB played with weekend. People had choices other then this movie.

Honestly the big thing that kept me from seeing it was Billy Eichner himself, and I just can’t imagine I’m the only one.

it could be that normal people are tired of having this kind of stuff shoved in our faces.

"despite their $40MM marketing campaign, this film generated $5MM opening weekend. That's avg of $1, 500 per theater." This gladdens my heart. Faith in America restored.
