I had so much fun making my earlier video dedicated to pre-code musicals I decided to make another one! I used clips from some of the same films used in the previous videos along with some others that were recently added to my collection. Ruth Etting's 1929 recording of "Button Up Your Overcoat!" seemed a good fit. Enjoy!

Clips from:

Sunny Side Up (1929)
Broadway Babies (1929)
King Of Jazz (1930)
The Kid From Spain (1932)
Blondie Of The Follies (1932)
Love Me Tonight (1932)
College Humor (1933)
Dancing Lady (1933)
Gold Diggers Of 1933 (1933)
Footlight Parade (1933)
Flying Down To Rio (1933)
Murder At The Vanities (1934)
Stand Up And Cheer! (1934)
Wonder Bar (1934)

My mother taught me this song when I was very young. She was 9 years old when the record came out in 1927!! I think it is still great today!

I recently learned about Ruth Etting, and she really grows on you. Have you seen her short film, Roseland?
