Every time I see these I think of Jeremy’s words “as long as I’m concerned the 928 is alright “ while holding tears .. nostalgic car review moment

Jeremy Clarkson had one during the early years of Top Gear, as a review model. One day, he got a call that his father was dying. He jumped in the 928 and raced three hours to be by his side. He had half an hour with his dad. He said he always had a soft spot for the 928 since then.

In England in 1988 I knew an 85 year old lady who upon the passing of her husband immediately went out and bought the 5.0 version in white to drive 12 miles once a week to buy cat-food!
I still wonder if she did that because of the life insurance, or had he spent a lifetime holding her back?
Bless you Mrs T, you were a legend. 🇬🇧🧐

I drive one. My dad wanted one when he saw the movie Risky Business as a kid. He bought one some years later and gave it to me when I graduated high school. I love it!

As a teenager, this was the car I dreamed of, still looks amazing today.

For a three-month period, I had the pleasure of driving a 928 as a company car, that was part of a year-end performance bonus.

As a kid growing up in the '80s, this was one of my favorite cars. 🤘🏽🤘🏽

I drive a 1993 928 GTS. Drives like a an absolute beast. You feel every bump, groove, and texture of the road in the best way possible. Heavy and smooth with great power.

Beautiful cars. I had a 944 turbo as my first car. I loved it, this was back in like 2002 and there were a lot of curvy roads where I lived. That small 4 cylinder engine was underpowered but I could walk away from my friends in Mustangs and Camaros easily bc they were soo heavy and had terrible handling

The whole dash moves with the column. That is awesome so the steering wheel doesn't block your gauges.👍

My dad had one for years because he was a Risky Business fan. Always wanted to get one for myself because of how happy that car made my dad

One of the best Porsches ever made. The 928 S4 or GTS with the wing is my all time favourite.

I got a ride in one of these as a kid in the 80ies. It felt like a spaceship, and everything was so futuristic. I was used to be in a Volvo at the time lol.

I had one 1985 928S 8 cilinders 32 valves 300 hp Most refined car I have ever seen but one snow flake and skidded. Ate tires like candy
Manual of course.
Something broke near 100k miles in complex rear suspension on curve on gravel, lost control hit embankment close to 60 mph. Walked away .
Nose crumbled and saved me
It was gorgeous.
Later 911 AWD now 718, not as refined as 928s

I had a white 928 S4 in Germany, brought it from a LT Col while stationed in Heidelberg. I would walk pass that car every day and just admire its beauty. One day, while reading thru the Stars & Stripes news paper I came across that same 928 S4 for sale. At my next opportunity, I went to the LTC office and inquired about the car, he came down on orders and needed to leave and wasn't able to take the car with him because it didn't have US specifications. I got a deal of a lifetime, the car was just a year old with 8 thousand kilometers on the clock. The acceleration would take your breath away, and would hit 320 kph. Amazing memories, beautiful car.

I had a 79 manual. Great looking car. Felt solid. But electrics were complicated. Parts expensive. Gearbox difficult to master. But beautifully made, stunning bodywork design. Fast, quiet and a good experience to drive
