Track of Hurricane Ernesto (2024)

Ernesto was the 5th named storm and 3rd hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season. It formed in the Main Development Region of the Atlantic basin, and tracked through the Leeward Islands as a tropical storm, bringing heavy rains to the region. Ernesto is notable for making a rare direct landfall on Bermuda, as a Category 1, the first storm to do so since Paulette of 2020. After striking Bermuda, Ernesto would go on to skirt just by Newfoundland in Canada, before turning post-tropical and later dissipating just north of the British Isles.

Hurricane Ernesto, was a fairly intense and long-lived C2 hurricane that made its first landfall in Bermuda in 4 years. However, there are no major impacts and the death toll remains low.
Speaking of which, the ATL season is now one of the most costliest seasons since 2017, despite this year's activity!
