It would be amazing if you could do more on PCOS. So many of us deal with it and have zero idea how to handle it. Other than being told to take birth control over and over and over.

That’s not entirely true. The uterine artery to the ovaries runs down the fallopian tubes so there is some research suggesting that tubal ligation can restrict blood flow to the ovaries and reduce their functioning so they cannot maintain adequate levels of female reproductive hormones. Not sure how this could impact PCOS and it’s a very new school of thought that needs further research but from what we know about inadequately vascularised tissues in other parts of the body it does mechanistically make sense that this could affect ovarian function.

I am missing one. I never thought I could get pregnant. I have one and one on the way since the removal. Most medical personnel won't explain things like this lady.

Hola Doc, yo soy una mujer de 65 años. I have PCOS. Could you please explain to women that menopause and/or a complete hysterectomy do NOT cure PCOS? I can't express, in nice words, just how upset I was when my endocrinologist told me that I would STILL have PCOS, even after a total hysterectomy. He asked me if my OB/GYN and/or gynecological oncologist explained that to me before my surgery. Neither did. I think that most women think that menopause and/or a total hysterectomy or even an oophorectomy is the end of PCOS. NOPE. It is a lifelong issue. I hope you can explain this so more young women will understand more about this disease (I know it's a 'syndrome', but I consider it a disease). Thank you and good luck with your bebita!

Probably a really stupid question but if you get your tubes removed, do eggs still get released? If so, where do they go?

What about the blood vessels that run through them? Wouldn’t the hurt the blood flow to the ovaries?

I have a question. If you're a girl with PCOS, how early should you start seeing an OBGYN. Im on the pill because of it, but I turn 17 in a month, and im wondering if I should start looking for one before going off to college in a year. Im not sexually active or anything, but im just wondering when is the right time to start seeing one.

Hey, I have a question. It's not normal for me to miss a period, but I am 26 days late. I have tested negative for pregnancy blood and urine tests. I know I have hormonal imbalances. I've never been diagnosed with PCOS, but I suspect I have it to some degree. I had two strands of tissue pass 2 weeks ago. I can't get in with an OBGYN until October. I'm concerned I'm pregnant and the blood pressure medicine I'm taking will harm the baby if so. Emergency room would not do an ultrasound because "it wouldn't be far enough along to tell" 😑 Do you have any thoughts or recommendations for me?
