I think not really. If you want fast clear then go Surtr. If you can stall long enough tho, go Texas. Eitherway, both are good units. It all just depends on what operators you have

I think Texas' s2 might have actually worked better than s3 here, since it works in a similar way to Surtr in terms of raw damage. Either way, the niche is a bit different. Surtr has much higher total damage, whereas Texas alter has much higher dps. Extremely op helidrop that's for sure. There's also a bit of variation with Texas herself bc the talent that activates her skill again only works if she kills an enemy

S3 is more suited for crowd control situations, while S2 is mainly for heavier DPS; mainly for bosses or high stat like enemies

In my opinion, you must use Texas with S2 against the bosses. S2 does more DPS, if you don't need stun.

Not to bash but the Texas usage here is very flawed. If you have masteries or not, if you want texas to dps an elite enemy, you go s2, which is Surtr levels of dps. At chapter 3 with Skullshatterer, a good way to use s3 would be to have him in range and also these normal enemies passing by, so you get the second skill proc from the talent and texas wouldn't be blocking Skull immediately, dishing out more damage.

And despite anything, Surtr is still a super strong unit and her not dying for 8/9 s talent separates herself as well as how her skills generally work. Still, Texas Alter is hilariously broken to have that dps on frd.

Kinda wrong timing for texas drop? Could've use the potential of her talent (redeploys her after killing an enemy that recasts her skill and hp to full) you dropped her a bit early that's why 2× skill recast damage got wasted. But yeah Surtr can't be replaced by Texas but still better having both units
