Your enthusiasm is great but you should know that when you actually have to own and maintain these cars, it's an unholy feeling. Yeah, they are great to look at. The E Type is probably the prettiest car ever made. Having had plenty of experience with these cars, it's somewhat like driving down the road knowing there is a ticking time bomb in your trunk that could explode any time but you really don't know when. All you know is when you least expect it, ka-pow! Old British cars, even if restored perfectly, are still time bombs. If you own a Chevy and something bad happens, it's easy and cheap to fix. The old British cars are a completely different story. Everything is a major production in the worst sense of the phrase. You're young. You will learn. It's what makes life interesting so keep having fun but just know what is in your future. You should also know that a few decades ago, BMC in San Francisco refused...REFUSED...to work on XJ-12's. They were professionally trained mechanics and experts on these cars and they wouldn't fix them. Best of luck.
