What about assets acquired after we have separated, but haven’t divorced yet. Like my roth ira acct? I am throwing a lot of money into it since now I know I will be alone in my retirement years. Should I stop putting in money until divorce? Should I pull out my invested until divorce? I didn’t open this roth ira until we were separated for some time. How can I be smart at this point and protect myself. He had an affair, a child and I can’t divorce him yet cause our teenager is still in high school and it would kill me to share living arrangements with him and his girlfriend! I do plan to divorce after the graduation. Ty for any advice. I am nervous for reply, but desperately want the truth.

My husband left after 34 years. I justvtalked with an attorney and he said if he hot a million in the bank by simeine thats different. Even than where we didbt have property ( only old motorcylces he sold) i coukd only get alimony off the interest as income.
A house given to him is an asset so nothing. It shoukd be criminal but i took the mindset, ill do it myself and cut all ties off.
