Canon R6 II hack😂

I added tape to help me train my brain not to turn on video Mode when trying to turn off the camera like the R5.
I also added tape on the right dial because I keep bumping it from the manual when taking it in and out of my camera bag. I really wish that Canon would have added a lock button on the PSAM Dial.

I’ve been shooting for over 10 years and never had that type of issues, and always had canon.

There is a lock function on my R6, just choose what to lock and save your tape! You need to read the manual perhaps?

Where do we purchase the Canon tape? Also, is there a template for exact placement on the R6 II? Lastly, thank you for filming in American.

Waiting for the day when canon will be bold enough to make a photo-only camera again

I turned “shutter sound” on because I hit the vid switch enough times and needed to know I was indeed taking photos. The switch has zero resistance and can flip with a light breeze or sneeze.

Never laughed so much on a gear video before 😂 here for the comment section

After shooting with a Mark IV for so long, I could have used this hack when I first got my R6. The buttons are reversed and I would constantly find myself switching the video/photo button thinking I was powering it off.

I do products photography and videos. I use the 28-70 F2. I love the R6 MII. I use C1, C2 and C3. It’s a great camera, specifically with that lens.

My dial has never moved accidentally, not that I recall anyway.. 15yrs of Canon use.

There was a lock on the EOS760D and I didn't like that. Very difficult the change that dial by accident. Even more with the video switch.

Euhuh? Looking at the Lock button on the main power on dial in the right??

Shooting Canon on high pace sports for 15 yrs now, never had any issues like these ... What you do with uour camera? Dangling at your belt out in the open?

The mode dial is pretty firm, I guess a lock feature could be a good addition

Never had this issue in 3 years of the R5 and now the R6ii but it happens all the time on my Fuji which has locks on all the buttons except exposure compensation. (Which gets bumped a lot)

Same way I solved my tire pressure warning light on my car dashboard 🤔

I heard that the professionals insert Kodak film instead of an SD card

Did you miss the whole "lock" selection between the on and off position??

Do people actually stumble so much that they need a mode wheel lock?

Used to make exactly the same with my 5D2, strange that they came back to wheels without locks

Why they don't take a queue from Fuji and now Nikon and just put back a shutter speed and ISO dials. I'll always shoot Fuji because of this. Well, the 40 MP images form the X-T5 are nice as well. lol!! And yes, I am a full time pro. 38 years.

The only time I have ever used the lock button is on accident
