My niece is a Deputy who was murdered in the line of duty May 6, 2023 when a POS 2x felon shot her when she was trying to help him out of a ditch. The first time I heard this song was at her service and it was such a searing pain. I have listened to it over and over, for it captures the unfathomable grief our family is experiencing. Badge 8835. 3/3/2023 Received a call from work calling me in for the next day to relieve the current shift. One of our officers was down.

This brings me to tears every single time. I’m a dispatcher and the officers are all MY officers. The same goes for my firefighters and medics. I’ve heard “shots fired” and I’ve heard the sound of an officer in a physical fight when his radio was bumped. I’ve also heard a “mayday” from my firefighters and the sound of my medics screaming for police due to a combative patient. Thankfully they’ve all made it home.

My partner was shot and killed less than 2 weeks ago.... his name was Mareo Bell. He gave his life protecting people alone in a gunfight with over 100 rounds fired. We are High Threat Security Officers. His Badge # was 104. Love you brother. Got it from here.
