One of the few games I think could have benefited from an M rating, not necessarily to make it more brutal, but to add to a few different scenes like this one.

Surprised at Barrett look when his Avalanche group (ofc other sect are more extreme) has killed more innocent people then cloud has killed in combat then entirety of FF7.

In fact in the original he was just killing guys shooting at them in scenes until he chilled out and had a revelation.

People are misreading the situation. Cloud has definitely killed before all this, its not the fact that he is killing them but how. He kills the infantry men as if he is enjoying it, he kills the soldier after he begs for his life and in brutal fashion. He nearly chops off Elena's head.
