In this behind the scenes VLOG, Kriss Hampton runs through the filmmaking kit he used to capture the India Travel Photography series. When looking to create a travel video, keeping your kit bag light is key to making sure you’re flexible and mobile, so when it comes to getting those unexpected candid shots you’re able to do so. Kriss explains why he uses the Sony A7S II mirrorless camera paired with the 24-105mm F4 lens, as well as the main accessories that he brings along to produce the series. You’ll find links below to each of the episodes, as well as links to his full kit list.

Nice setup. I wonder tho, how you attached the Rødelink Transmitter onto your XLR box on top of the camera. As far as i concerned, there isn’t any hotshoe mount ontop of the K2m XLR adapter?

Thanks for a great series. On a fairly recent trip to India I found that a number of official sites banned video cameras completely, or charged you an exorbitant fee to use them. But they still apparently hadn't cottoned on to the fact that today's DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras took video equally as well ! It's a strange place where you really do need to get in tune with some odd customs and rules, but having said all that it is still one of the most photogenic places on earth.

I would love to know how the camera was set up for this style of filmmaking. Picture profiles and how he managed shooting run and gun in the different locations.

that's awesome, how did you accomodate for the low battery life? did you carry a lot of batteries or connect to that huge usb connector all the time?
