NASA's Nuclear Drone on Titan VS Comet Sample Return (Collab with Fraser Cain)

NASA’s considering sending a nuclear powered flying robotic laser guided quadcopter drone to a world with oceans, rain and maybe one of the best views in our solar system.

That’s right, this is one of two potential missions that NASA has narrowed down for their final mission in their New Frontiers Program.

Today I’m going to tell you all about ONE of those two missions as I go head to head against the publisher of Universe Today, Fraser Cain in a battle for the best potential mission.

After you’ve heard from both of us, you get to vote on which one you think should win, which almost certainly will forever shape the history of space exploration. Either that or NASA won’t care at all what we think... hmmm…

Knowing a bit about each mission *I'm all for Titan.* But will hear both sides before I vote :)

I think exploring Titan would be so much more interesting than exploring a comet. I don't want to explore a comet. I want to explore Titan. So I vote for exploring Titan.

I would also love to send a probe to Europa.

Last time I was this early NASA still had a budget

You should launch Dragonfly on Kerbal Space Program.

Elon would love to colonize Titan because it has oceans of his favorite rocket fuel.

You have the best most intelligent comment section on youtube. I read through comments and not one of them said "cancel both and send a probe to Uranus" I honestly expected that to be about half. Some hope for humanity restored, for now.

Now that I know you make your own music, I really enjoy it in the background

Great job Tim! Sorry I did fall asleep during the slow mo part, but perked right up after. How cool would be a nuclear copter flying around.

I'm all for the Titan mission. Not because a flying quadcopter drone, or and RTG, but because Titan is just awesome!

There are a lot of unanswered variables. A test drone should be used before we send a very expensive nuclear drone. There is no debate. Would a nuclear drone be awesome? Yes. But maybe a movie plot 1st. And titant is unreal.
Great show tho bud

Tim, in all honesty both you and Fraser have good presentations. So the only reason why I would opt for Titus over Fraser’s comet is Titus’s liquid methane lakes. This could be a great source of energy for our planetary travel (a sort of gas station I.e. instead of Exxon pumps we could call it “Tiutuxxon”)

I'm all for Titan. But that drone needs extra arms. It would really suck if we got all the way there and one of the arms had broken. Backups are always a good idea. Just ask Fraser about the reaction wheels on the Kepler mission.

You got one definite vote for the nuclear powered drone. Way more exciting than a big rock...
Just imagine the view of Saturn from Titan.
