A new labour law in Greece has introduced a six day working week in attempt to boost productivity and combat what the government has labelled a "ticking timebomb" of an aging population and skilled workers shortage. But with pilot projects across Europe showing that four-day weeks often boost productivity, many people in Greece are angered at the government's initiative.

Some people always worked 6 days per week because they want so, I mean they need extra money.
With the previous law this was illegal, and these people got "black money" and a loss for the pension treasury... Now, these people can work legally. It is not mandatory etc, it is for the people who want extra money and already work illegally.
