Never start with Python when the problem falls within Ansible's scope, or you are harming your team and company. If a well Ansible repository isn't enough stock, then write Ansible modules and/or jinja2 filters in Python. Ansible is designed to automate infrastructure, it's structured to do exactly this, if you do it great in Python it will look very similar to Ansible.
