Video shows woman abandoning dog at Vancouver park

A woman was caught on camera dropping a dog off at Orchards Park in Vancouver, leaving the animal before driving off in her Tesla.

The poor dog looking around was heart-breaking. So glad he was re-homed.

At the time of this report the dog was 13, his name is Henry. The woman who abandoned him was identified, she stated she could not keep him and didn't know what to do with him. She was cited for animal cruelty, but signed a confession of judgement in lieu of criminal charges. She had to pay a fine, reimburse the county for Henry's care and was not allowed to own a dog for 2 years. I assume Henry was eventually adopted, there was a lot of interest in him. The last report I could find said he was living with a foster family waiting to move in with his forever family.

She took the dog's collar off and intentionally dumped him. I hope she was charged and convicted.

I can't imagine the feeling of utter abandonment that dog must be feeling afterwards.

Don't ever abandon your pets like that even if you're unable to take care of it. Look for places that can take them in.

There aren't enough shelters, rescues, and people who want to BUY dogs? Of course she knew what to do. She just couldn't be bothered. Anyone who has the ability to leave their dog and drive away must be broken.

I was devastated to see that pet standing there all lost and confused.
He must have been so heart broken at being abandoned. I hope he found a happy home. Hugs.

We had our husky for 19 years. He was part of our family. When he slowed down we took turns sleeping with him (he could not climb the stairs) until he looked at us as if to say "let me go". We still did not want to do so until our vet said: he is ready. This video breaks my heart. So much love they could get from and give to this companion .... they are missing out.

These kinds of things make me so sad. I love dogs and can't understand how people can just wake up one day and decide to leave their dog behind all alone. The worst thing is most dogs are loyal enough to remain where they are, waiting for the owner that abandoned them to return. I honestly don't get how people can have a clean conscience after doing such a thing.

absolutely heartbreaking I lost my amazing golden retriever to cancer and he saved my life one morning Rocky woke up the household turned out that I had Septicaemia (blood poisoning) due to a infection. I was unresponsive and Rocky laid next to me nudging me with his paws and nose doing his upmost best to wake me up but couldn't. So he started to go to each room barking and one of my family members woke up and Rocky grabbed them by there hand and took them to my room and one week later I was out of the hospital Rocky got the biggest bone and steak I could find him and gave him the biggest hug and kiss. The truly amazing thing after this had happened Rocky could tell when I was getting sick even sometimes before I know myself this was without being taught to do so dogs are truly amazing and I truly miss him each and everyday. Rocky was my service dog I truly believe that he was angel in a furry body. This beyond evil to do that to such beautiful animal because all he wants is to give you love. Dogs are truly amazing and this truly broke my heart that someone could even do this they need to go to jail. but Thank You to who ever rescued this beautiful dog people like you make the world a better place to live in with your amazing kindness

What a disgusting human. Get her! I hope that sweet baby gets the best home! She doesn’t deserve to have the choice of having him/her back.
