Fender Student Pedal Steel Guitar Demo

Here we have a Fender student model which was built by Sho~Bud for Fender around, 1974-75. It has a pull-release changer, and was originally built with 3 pedals and 1 knee lever. I added parts for 2 more knee levers to bring it uo to a total of 3 x3.

It has very nice Fender tone, as the pickup, changer, fretboard and 10 string pan tuner, are all Fender made classic parts. The under carriage is late model Sho~Bud hexagonal shafts and bellcranks, and the pedal board and pedals are what was used on the Super Pro guitars. OEM cross shafts and bracket holders, with locally built knee lever brackets, stops, bell cranks and rods were used for the 2 installed knee levers.

This guitar plays quite well. It has a standard Emmons setup on the pedals and knees. The knee levers are setup as follows:

RKR - Lowers strings 2 and 9 a 1/2 tone

RKL - Raises string 1 a 1/2 tone, and raises string 7 a full tone

LKR - Lowers strings 4 and 8 a 1/2 tone.

I added a return spring adjustment for the LKR, to insure proper intonation and for playability adjustment.

I have the same PSG with 3 foot pedals and 4 knee levers. 1976 I understand from Sho Bud built by Shot Jackson for Fender. Apparently there was a concern about meeting the contract dates. Can anyone enlighten me re: this? Cheers... a great PSG.
