I never would have imagined seeing you play a Yamaha RGX. I am a huge Yamaha fan, so it is awesome to see you ripping on one!

It's thanks to you that I got into hybrid picking over a year ago. Thanks a lot I appreciate it.

Love that guitar. I have a late 80's RGX that I got at 14 as my first guitar. Still play it. I changed the pickups to Seymour Duncan's. The thing is always in tune, unlike my fender... I beat the shit out of that guitar and it's still a solid go to. I always love seeing one of those old Yamaha's pop up in a YouTube video.

The moment I heard the pinch harmonic, I knew I was in for a treat! Amazing lesson and guitar!

It's a late 80s guitar, inspired by the Ibanez RG series.
I had one in black.

These lessons are why I first subscribed. Wouldn't mind seeing more of these as your earlier videos helped me immensely as a beginner.

I still have a slightly newer (80’s) version of this same model in red, originally belonging to my brother quite a few years ago. Still love playing it now and then.

This video encouraged me to have a closer look at Yamaha's guitar line up. While I know they do acoustics as well. Other than their Pacifica line up. their RGX series of guitars arent really widely available here in the UK... At least that is the case for the top of the range model. I think in the last 20 or so years. theyve conceded defeat and left their market share for the much bigger brands who are always hungry to get themselves out there and known which is a real shame as they do make so super quality guitars.

My first guitar was a pacifica 312 and it absolutely beautiful thing and i could never bring myself to sell it. And one of the reasons why i love it is because every time i play it, it sounds like its from the 80s.

I wish Yamaha would really push their guitar department and have a major return to the UK market. I would love to buy one of their guitars again.

i think you meant the late80's not the late 70's as yamaha did not make the rgx series until 1987 as they were copying the ibanez rg

I have almost the same guitar! A 1992 RGX112. very similar model but with a vintage trem and it's entirely black, even the neck
