You are a star, thank you. 👏 My rigs a bit different with a 3090, i9 11th gen, and 64gb ram, so your settings had me well under the 11ms. I had it all too cranked up before watching your vid and it all looked utter bollox, now I could use VR for all my race sims and be happier than using my G9 NEO. Which previously I'd have preferred. I have a Quest 2 and a Vive Pro as I’m a big fan of VR gaming and absolutely love the immersion it gives us. However my only single exception to playing in VR is sim racing, as I much prefer the visual experience that a triple screen layout with button boxes, Simhub dash, etc visually provides.

enhanced mirror is cool, allows you to move your head and look around in the mirrors at different angles, helps with blind spots, also get crew chief.

Great video. Very informative. I drove in VR for the first time, today. Mind blown. Definitely need to tweak some settings for better visuals (Link Cable). Ryzen 7 5700G, Radeon 3070 16GB. Been meaning to install the two 16mb chips, but doesn't seem to be a need for them. Subscribed. Thanks for the time and effort. Occulus Quest 2. Racing in VR blew my mind. I was very pleased to find that motion sickness isn't a problem....yet. Probably because of good framerates. So stinkin immersive!

You could easily double your performance and have a much crisper image, and higher graphics settings if you use Open Composite and Open XR. I run the same headset on a 5800X and 3090TI, but also had the same results with my 3080.

Use Open XR, run 130% resolution, and then use fixed foveated rendering in Open XR Toolkit. Also turn on Motion Reprojection in Open XR Toolkit. Image will be so crisp that you likely won’t need any AA and you won’t even have stutters with rain. Total game changer. Using Steam VR should be good our last choice for any WMR headset. Running through Steam VR alone uses about 10-20% more resources. Gaining that back, plus adding fixed foveated rendering is a night and day difference in performance. 👍🏼

Hey Eddie, I just bought the Reverb G2 V2 and if you are able I would love to have you help me set it up and test it out. Let me know if you're interested. I am new to Sim Racing and actually never played your level 1 or 2 of the video game racing levels. I jumped right into Forza 7 after my kids bought me a wheel and pedals. I didn't like it and only played about 1-2 months. That was 5 years ago, THEN about 4 months ago I bought Raceroom as a new hobby and, OH OH! Time to upgrade some stuff. Pedals first, VR now, and next will be a wheel stand. Most likely the GT Omega Apex. Anyways, look forward to hearing from you. Great video here. I am sure it will make more sense once I have the headset hooked up.

My g29 won’t work in ams2 when I’m in vr. I think it’s because my computer prioritizes the oculus usb over the Logitech one. Not sure though

Great video, thanks. Hope you checked out OpenComposite and OpenXR meanwhile, that will give you a ton of extra fps. Bypassing SteamVR, using FFR in ToolkitXR.. that will give you around 15 to 20% extra fps.

your pc is a bit better then mine is. I have a 2700x (ryzen) with a Strix 5700xt 32gigs of ram @3600. I've been able to run the same headset in all of my sim games without much issue at medium-high setting. Will the game auto detect the headset and steam vr when you launch or is there something that you have to do to enable the vr

Have you tried 60hz? I heard it bothers some people, but it doesn’t affect me fortunately. Also, I turn shadows off as they are poorly implemented and aliased. Picked up a lot of headroom that way.
