Tim Newburn is the Professor of Criminology and Social Policy at LSE and author of Criminology: A Very Short Introduction. In this talk, he gives an overview of his book and an introduction to the study of criminology. In particular, he looks at how we define and measure crime, and considers some of the potential reasons behind the apparent fall in crime since the 1990s.
