Ice road Rick and the polar bear could destroy a truck like no other! they would drive 50 mph through the woods bouncing up to roof "did I do thaaaat"? when the leaf springs break in two lol Alex is my favorite.good dude right there.

Some years ago, Rick Yam had in interview with german truck-life magazin "Trucker" It was fun to read, as for the first time, one of the castmembers spoke out about everything fake of the show. He said (meaning not word for word) "You need to know, we didnt get paid for the load. Discovery paid us, it was a TV show and we had to do as told. If Discovery said ""say something dramatic"" we did, if they said ""crash into the ditch"" we did. They paid for the demage. As for the "stars" well...Hugh is Hugh. Me? I never was a truck driver. Im a carpet cleaner, i drive trucks for fun. After one season i said i go back to the company i own, cleaning carpets. They told me, ""You come back, but this time you are a owner operator and partner of Hugh"" So, I pretended to be a partner.
As for Lisa. Lisa is the most different of us in real life. If we do conventions, you see Lisa sitting there with earplugs, she is not the type to "entertain" fans.

The show started as a documentary on the History Channel. I have a DVD of the original documentary before the series even began. I can't remember his name, but this young boy, just 20 or so, hauled over-sized loads in the first season. I wonder what ever happened to him. I don't think he stuck around for the second season. Young as he was, he was good at what he did.
