Developed from the ground up for modern players, the next-generation FANTOM 6, FANTOM 7, and FANTOM 8 models fuse Roland’s latest synthesizer technologies with fluid operation, an intuitive color touchscreen, and deep computer integration. There’s also an enormous selection of effects available to enhance individual sounds and process entire mixes.

It’s possible to run all 16 parts with all available effects at once, complete with full patch remain for seamless transitions. FANTOM models offer exceptional playability and aftertouch support with Roland’s best keyboards ever, including the acclaimed PHA-50 on the 88-key FANTOM 8 and a brand new semi-weighted action on the 76-key FANTOM 7 and 61-key FANTOM 6. In addition to the color touchscreen interface, there are plenty of knobs and sliders for intuitive and immediate control, plus a dedicated synthesizer section with oscillator, filter, and envelope controls.

FANTOM is a complete music composition platform, filled with creative options to build arrangements fast. Available tools include RGB pads, a classic TR-REC style pattern sequencer, real-time recording with piano roll editing, and a grid for recording and launching clips.

FANTOM excels as a standalone instrument, but its powers grow exponentially when connected to computers, analog synthesizers, and other gear. DAWs and performance software like Apple's Logic Pro and MainStage can be operated from the touchscreen and panel controls, and virtual instruments from Roland Cloud and others can be easily controlled and combined with FANTOM's internal sounds. It’s also possible to drive modular and analog synthesizers from its dual CV/Gate outputs.

We are close to having a full daw complete plus physical controls all in one. Keyboard.
Basically an Apple m1 keyboard controller daw sequencer multiple instruments efx. Knobs faders slider audio interface plugins touch screen monitor midi automation pedals keys.
No breath control though.

I own a Yamaha MODX8. They seem like similar machines. The drums is so much better on the Roland, Yamaha is too difficult (at present 2022). Adjusting envelope params seems a bit easier and quicker on the Roland, although MODX is very comprehensive in this area too. Great demo, love to see the more complex features.

Im a Roland Fantom user and tried it all from the first Fantom Fa 76, fantom X, fantom G, FA 06 and 08.. also an integra 7 user. All i can say about this new fantom, its great if you use it integrated with computer/VST.. Also the new controls makes it better.. but i still need to try it in person before deciding getting it which is i always do before buying a new synth.. in terms of sounds, theres really nothing new on sounds coz the sounds ive heard on this demo can be produced by any other synths/modules if you are only giving time on how to edit your ADSR( Advance delay sustain and release).. Lastly im still interested with this new synth. The outputs and new computer connections are great to have. The touch screen is not amZing coz we know this is old technology, even the korg trinity from the 90s has that touch screen already. Thanks Roland. i dont know if does it have a smooth transition? Hope it does coz you are too late.

The envelope and filters real-time screen control graphic must be updated, it needs bigger knots on each segment. Also when you tweak many knobs the os shows only one rotary action and it overlaps the other causing jerky feedback. If I tweak 2 rotary or slider controllers the operating system must show 2 or more actions not just only one.
