Interview with Martin Enderle at Digital Darwinism

Dr. Martin Enderle, CEO of Scout24 and SVP Digital Services Deutsche Telekom, was interviewed at the Digital Darwinism Summit that was hosted by Vivaldi Partners Group to kick off the Manager Meeting Europe.

At the event, Enderle utlined the critical path of evolution for digital businesses and the three most important factors to succeed. To grasp new opportunities in a fast evolving digital environment, companies have to innovate their digital business model constantly. Enderle described how successful companies first took offline content and activities to the more convenient online world and then developed into broader service providers that enriched their customers' lives (e.g. buying a car or a house). He stressed the importance of offering relevant services and of interacting with customers in this rapidly changing environment. Already, "40% of this interaction is now mobile", Enderle said. To take the next step towards becoming facilitators of whole industries, companies need a good understanding of consumer behavior and the resulting future growth opportunities. Enderle shared his three key lessons for successful business model innovation. They are thinking creatively about your business, building a culture of fast experimentation that accepts failures, and integrating external input in your innovation process.
