New Volvo XC90 Hybrid/Recharge expected in 2024: Preview

The second-gen Volvo XC90 turned nine years old this August, and ideally, it should be replaced with a fully redesigned, third-gen model. However, as Volvo Cars doubles down on fully-electric models, we're not expecting the company to invest heavily in all-new models with a combustion engine. Thus, we expect it to continue the existing XC90 for a few more years, but with a second facelift following the one in February 2019.

We think the new XC90 will feature a refreshed exterior, new trim and upholstery, and more efficient powertrains, and arrive in the U.S. as an MY2025 model in 2024. Watch the video to learn more about the new XC90, and our expectations from the new SUV.

Bigger Electric battery with driving range over 70 miles and DC fast charging option are core for a new Recharge version improvements. More EV Driving experience with full electric motor power output when acerbating without waking up the petrol engine. Rear wheel steering will be a bonus and off course electrically foldable rear seats from the tailgate area. I suspect the centre console screen and the driver display will be akin to the EX90
