I BOUGHT A KUBICKI back in 1988/89, LOVED IT!

That's so cool of Ian . I wish I had a friend like that... I'm bummed had to sell my Warwick for covid bills now borrowed a beat up ibenez from a gypsy friend just so I could play... I'm so grateful to her but the bass hurts to play even after I've set her up the best way possible... Been played for over 30 years... I'm saving slow but sure to someday own a nice, COMFORTABLE bass again

A cross between a stack knob jazz and a steinberger..paired with a Trace Elliott and you brought it back to ‘85

I loved them so much, Phil Kubicki made me a custom fretless Ex Factor...I love that bass so much!

Phil K is a cool guy. He used to fix my guitar. He had a shop in his garage in Santa Barbara when I was in college 1981.

Saw Stu Hamm playing this with Joe Satriani on the Flying in a Blue Dream tour at The Barrowlands in Glasgow. Johnathon Mover on drums was incredible. The perfect trio.

I know the guy who makes those now. If you want to buy one, you have to custom order it and he will make it for you. He’s out here in Pennsylvania close to where I live. He has the prototype for the first Factor in his workshop.

My favorite 80s bass is the Fender Jazz Bass Special in white!

No Brasil 🇧🇷 o Bi Ribeiro, Do Paralamas e o Nando Reis do Titãs, ficaram icônicos com o Ex-Factor, dentre outros.

Streaming Stu Hamm’s “Sexually Active” is a great way to hear a mix of techniques played on the Kubicki.

What amp are you running that thing through? The tone is superior to anything I‘ve ever heard!

If that’s what I think it is, my suspicion is that it was built in the same city where I was born, Newburgh, New York, USA. Ned Steinberger began his operation in Brooklyn where he is originally from. In 1983, the year after I began preschool in the neighboring township of New Windsor, Mr. Steinberger transplanted his operation into a textile factory in Newburgh. I suspect that is where that bass was built.
