@23:00 doing 45 degrees and then cutting flat to cut off the end up against the wall to effectively cut of the piece that would have been touch the strip you cut off the long length would have worked, man this is hard to explain in text. I had to do the same thing in my place.

You've been busy.

Good to hear from you again.

That's going to be embarrassing when guests get down on hands and knees, and look at that fireplace tile with a magnifying glass. Ooooh, these tiles are off by at least 0.25mm. Otherwise, really looking great now.

Thanks David. I was thinking about you the other day and wondering how it was going. I all looks fantastic. You will have to show us how the architrave turns out on the next update. Take care.

6:41 - get a machine from lidl that can cut the corners like a cnc machine around - ah it is called ROUTERS in english to make the corners sides and so on looking nicely. The quality was astonishing good and quite cheap 30€ or 28 GBP more or less and you get individual pieces in a nice trim for a small amount of money. You can use it a lot inside for making things nice from the surplus wood pieces you will have left over.

If it goes wrong, it's called a "caulk up" in the UK

The PET should be quite easy to fix, it got an old school linear power supply with a nice big transformer.
I'd reseat any chips in their sockets, making sure you take ESD precautions. these old chips will die very easy to any sort of static discharge and are getting harder to get.

DIY always goes wrong for me when I have any kind of deadline.

The catch 22 of it is that without any kind of deadline, the work will never happen. I'd spend my whole life thinking out the perfect plan and never introduce the plan to reality.

You just needed to make the 45 on both pieces then cut the top piece again to take off the tip. As you cut down the architrave then you need to "reduce the length" or trim the tip off of it to make the pattern align. I imagine it is done now, but the changes you need to make can still be done if you have a bit more length on that extra piece you planned to add.

Cut all angles at 45 degrees, and then shorten the left hand side of the top piece by the same amount as you trimmed off the LH architrave. Of course the top piece will need to be longer to allow for it to be trimmed. At least that's the way I've seen it done.

Yes, cut the right hand architrave to the same width as the left and the top of course. Anyone looking at it would realise the reason why it had to be done.

any more recent updates ?

never forget how lucky you must have been to get that house for that mortage back in the days when interest rates were low. Makes living a lot easier if you do the math.

What about heatpump for heating - typical DIY here in central europe, solar power ?
I have not watched the video yet, but wandered about your channel cuase I had not gotten any notification for years and tried to remember your channel. I knew watt and electronics but luckily i did not found anything which met till I saw youtubes list while typing and then I recognied my faults

david watts with s is a different story, my only memory I had in my mind was that steam machine, James Watt as what we call a donkey bridge to remember things, but of cause WATT is not WATTS.

I will enjoy the video now - I had wondered what progress you might have made meanwhile therefore the odysee and then this comment.
