Comparing Observational & Conceptual Approaches To Drawing A Portrait

This video demonstrates two different methods of drawing the same portrait. One is a sight-size technique which relies solely on measurements to record every line. The other relies on a conceptualization of the volumetric forms which begins with the skull. With the second approach, one needs to have some basic knowledge of anatomy, whereas with the first approach that isn’t necessary. My recommendation would be to practice both methods, as each has value. As you practice the methods, you’ll most likely end up combining them in a way which best suits your needs. That's a gorgeous lady. Where do you get these images? It's easy to draw when your subject looks nice. Unfortunately google image searches for "actress" or "model" give me fugly celebs like Zendaya, Candle Jenner, etc.

why dont you just trace it? it's quicker if speed is what you want i dont see the point in doing that
