So, I got Reunion, never played the original, went in knowing exactly how it ends, and was basically completely prepared for whatever happened... Zack is the first character in a video game I've legitimately cried over. I was holding back tears as I was desperately trying to keep him alive, I was willing to use every last Potion, Ether, and Elixer I had to get Zack to Midgar and back to Aerith... then her portrait on the DMW changed before it disappeared and I broke.

I just completed Reunion, which is my first time experiencing Crisis Core. Seriously, I feel like I've never fought as hard as I did during that final battle. I knew the end was inevitable, but I just had to fight for as long as possible. When my health almost hit 0 a few times I was literally yelling with desperation, man. Zack's death has got me messed up, bro. I loved him so much.

Zack's death is the first time I've ever cried over a fictional character. Zack didn't deserve what happened to him. He was a great person, who only dreamed of being a hero and fought only from the genuine goodness in his heart. He was faced with tragedy after tragedy, but still he always did the right thing. He died protecting his friend Cloud, and as he was dying, the only things going through his mind were Aerith and the question "Did I become a hero?". And the cherry on top, due to Cloud's mako poisoning, he completely forgot about Zack.

You did become a hero Zack.

Remember playing this for the first time on PSP and in the final fight, the song had looped to the point where 2:55 hit as the DMV slowed down and stuck on Aerith. Such power and emotion in this theme, and it hit so f’n hard. RIP to a true hero: Zack Fair

This theme is so beautiful and really represents Zack as a character well. Despite all he went through and how his view of SOLDIER and Shinra changed, he still lived to fulfill his dream of being a hero
