Bryn Mawr: Video Tour

Today I’m taking you on a tour of beautiful Bryn Mawr. Situated at the midpoint of the Main Line—about 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia—Bryn Mawr is home to a vibrant village center, gorgeous historic homes, scenic parks, top-rated school districts and several of the nation’s premier colleges, including Bryn Mawr College.

Bryn Mawr attracts families, young professionals and empty nesters alike due to its walkability, historic feel and wide range of housing options. Straddling two counties and three townships, Bryn Mawr offers a mix of older, more traditional homes, such as stone colonials, and newer communities. Some neighborhoods—particularly on the north side of Bryn Mawr—command high prices, even for homes needing updates and repairs, but there are other, more affordable options available. There are currently about 50 homes for sale in Bryn Mawr with a median list price of $849,000.

One of Bryn Mawr’s most appealing features is its charming village center, located along Lancaster Avenue. Dozens of boutiques, restaurants and cafes line the streets, giving the area a breezy, urban feel. Here you’ll find national brands like Athleta and Blue Mercury sandwiched between local favorites like La Colombe Coffee and the Bryn Mawr Film Institute. The recently renovated Ludington Library and Bryn Mawr Hospital anchor the downtown area. Every Saturday the Bryn Mawr train station hosts a popular open-air farmer’s market, and residents flock to the town’s weekly twilight concerts during the summer months. Bryn Mawr Day, a family friendly village-wide celebration held every Fall, is another beloved tradition.

Bryn Mawr is also known for its nationally ranked public schools, with students attending Lower Merion, Radnor or Haverford Township schools. The area is home to several top private schools as well, including the Baldwin School and Shipley School.
